The Acura Integra name is part of history. Fans of sporty driving fondly remember this dynamic first-generation compact and have gladly embraced the new iteration of this icon. With its modern look, the sporty little hatchback offers dynamism and driving pleasure. For the new year, Acura has added a Type S version to its catalogue, offering even more fun behind the wheel.

An assertive powertrain
In its base version, the Acura Integra shares its powertrain with the Honda Civic Si. It is powered by a 4-cylinder, 1.5-litre turbocharged engine mated to a continuously variable transmission. The A-Spec version, however, can switch to a six-speed manual gearbox. The latter also adds an individual driving mode to the Integra’s driving mode selector (Integrated Dynamic System IDS), allowing the driver to save a personalized setting, enabling him or her to adjust the suspension for a more comfortable or sportier ride.

Introducing the Type S
The new 2024 Acura Integra Type S is the ultimate in performance. Here, the changes are radical, both in styling and mechanics. The Type S is equipped with a 2.0-litre turbocharged in-line four-cylinder engine, significantly more powerful than the base version, developing 320-hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. Like the Honda Civic Type R, the Type S is equipped with a six-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive. The 2024 Acura Integra Type S also features a limited-slip differential, adaptive suspension and a choice of personalized driving modes.

A pure Acura interior
The kinship with the rest of the Acura family is evident in the interior design of the new Integra. The standard leatherette or optional ultrasuede upholstery is remarkably comfortable, and the sports seats provide essential support for dynamic driving. A dozen power adjustments are available for the driver, while the full-width rear bench is replaced by two bucket seats in the sporty Type S. The dashboard is similar to that of the larger TLX models and displays driving information on a 10.2-inch digital screen.

Comfort and entertainment
The ELS Studio 3D takes care of music diffusion through 16 speakers carefully distributed throughout the cabin. Controls are available via a 9-inch screen housed at the top of the dashboard, incorporating Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, as well as offering full integration of the Alexa personal assistant. To ensure the safety of its occupants, the Integra features the AcuraWatch safety package, which brings together functions such as blind spot detection, adaptive cruise control and brake assist.
