Versions and price of the 2022 Acura MDX
At your Acura dealership in Montreal, you can purchase the base version, called MDX, for $57,900. The price of the 2022 Acura MDX can reach up to $83,000 with the Type S Ultra. Besides these two versions, Acura is offering 4 very interesting versions:
- The Tech, starting at $61,900
- The A-Spec, starting at $64,900
- The Platinum Elite, starting at $68,900
- The Type S, starting at $79,000

Two engines to choose from
The MDX is getting several mechanical upgrades this year, including the addition of a Type S version. There are also a few components that have been reworked for greater efficiency.
To start, let's talk about the engine of the entry-level model: it is once again powered by the 3.5 L i-VTEC V6 engine with 290 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque. However, the previous 9-speed automatic transmission has been replaced by an all-new 10-speed automatic transmission for even greater smoothness.
The suspension has also been redesigned, and now combines a double wishbone front suspension with a multi-link rear suspension. The result is a decidedly sportier ride.
The SH-AWD system also comes standard on the entire line-up. It delivers stable and reliable driving regardless of road conditions. For the new model year, the SH-AWD system is also upgraded to a new generation with race-inspired torque vectoring technology. This increases torque capacity at the rear wheels and helps accelerate torque transfer. The result: a much more responsive performance on the road!
What's more, the Acura SUV offers 5 driving modes to suit your needs and the road conditions:

The 2022 Acura MDX also added a second option to the menu: a Type S version. With the Type S, you will enjoy a huge serving of power for an exhilarating drive: it is powered by a huge 3.0 L turbocharged V6 engine which unleashes an incredible 355 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque! What's more, it's equipped with adaptive shocks and an adjustable air suspension for an even more enjoyable ride.
The exterior design of the 2022 Acura MDX
The exterior of the Acura MDX SUV also received several changes, starting with slightly bigger dimensions for a more spacious interior. This is primarily because of the new platform, which also delivers greater rigidity. The dimensions are primarily reflected in the more spacious interior of the MDX.
The vehicle's front end has also been redesigned to feature even more defined lines as well as extended LED headlights. The classic diamond pentagonal grille and Jewel Eye headlights are as distinctive as ever.
The MDX now comes standard with 19-inch wheels instead of 18; and you can also select the bigger 20-inch wheels with the Tech version, or even the massive 21-inch shark-gray wheels with the Type S.
The A-Spec package once again adds distinctive elements for a sportier look, including its shark gray wheels and darker accents.
The interior of the 2022 MDX: more spacious and luxurious
Thanks to its new platform which increases its dimensions, the interior of the MDX is more spacious than ever, and your passengers will love it! What's more, the interior is easy to adjust thanks to the sliding second row and the removable central seat.
It also means you can enjoy plenty of cargo space; in the customizable trunk you can store between 462 and 512 L of personal belongings. By lowering only the third row, you can store up to 1,367 L. If you lower both rows of seats, the total cargo space climbs all the way to 2,690 L!
A host of premium features also come standard, including a large panoramic sunroof that brightens up the cabin. The driver will love the 12-way adjustable seat, with up to 16 adjustments on the Platinum Elite version! The Platinum Elite version is finished in real wood and features the IconicDriveTM ambient lighting system with 23 themes.
The Tech version adds perforated leather seats, which are heated in the front and rear. It also offers ventilated front seats. For the ultimate in comfort, the Type S Ultra features front seats with massage function and quilted leather seats!
